Hari B Sunkara is a Senior Principal Investigator at DuPont CR&D Molecular Sciences. He received his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry in 1989 from the University of Madras. Since joining DuPont in 1997, he has been primarily involved in developing bio-based polymers and materials and their end use applications. He is a key, early contributor to the bio-based material platform as well as a contributor and a resource to several programs in many DuPont Businesses. Hari has invented an entire Cerenol® product line and he is the principal inventor in more than 130 US Patent Applications filed and contributed to many publications and presentations. Because of Hari’s work on Cerenol® polyols, DuPont has been recognized in many industry awards: Polyurethane Innovation Award, GPEC Environmental Stewardship Award and Kirkpatrick Chemical Engineering Honor Award. In 2013, Hari received ACS Affordable Green Chemistry National Award, He also received DuPont and DuPont Canada Sustainable Growth Excellence Awards.
